When I first met her, I believed what we had was something real. The problem wasn’t just the silence; it was knowing that the silence wasn’t honest. It became a pattern, promises that didn’t hold up, plans that fell through, stories that changed when I asked questions. I tried to understand, to give space, to believe that maybe I was overthinking. But deep down, I knew something wasn’t right. Trust started to fade, and with it, so did the connection I thought we had. Eventually, I realized it wasn’t about me not being enough, it was about her not being ready to be honest. She wanted to keep her options open while keeping me around just enough to not walk away. That kind of half-hearted love hurts more than losing someone outright, because it keeps you hoping for something that isn’t there. Now, I see it for what it was: a lesson. I learned that words don’t mean much without consistency, and that I deserve someone who doesn’t make me question where I stand. I’m not angry anymore just wiser. I’d rather have peace with the truth than comfort in a lie. Maybe she will get a song about her :)
